Ruth has been practising yoga for over 25 years and enjoys participating in a diverse range of yoga and movement practices.
After yoga supported her recovery through a major illness in 2017, Ruth decided to train as a teacher to share her experiences of the recuperative power of yoga with others.
She is qualified to teach Hatha, Yin and Vinyasa flow. Ruth is passionate about sharing yoga with all ages (although her 10 year old daughter says she still prefers gymnastics!), and is certified to teach adults, teenagers and children from age three and up. She regularly provides voluntary yoga classes to a number of charities across the UK.
Ruth says: “Yoga helped me to recover my physical body and my mind after several months of illness and draining medical treatments. Some days my practice was just to be able to come to my mat and breathe. But yoga (as well as my wonderful yoga and pilates teachers – thank you) held my hand and led me back to strength, life and vitality. Today I get to come to my yoga mat to celebrate the simple joy of movement.”
In Ruth’s classes she likes to combine a flow of yin and yang asanas that will rejuvenate the body and nourish the mind. Integrating with breathing (pranayama), meditation and deep relaxation to balance your physical energy and create a truly restorative practice.
