About Yoga for Harmony

Due to the restrictions imposed by the Corona Virus Pandemic, ALL classes are currently on-line and must be booked with the individual tutors. Please check the class you would like to attend on the timetable for tutor contact details.

Once Government guidelines allow the studio to reopen, I anticipate most classes will offer a blended in-person/on-line mix. I hope to offer ‘drop-in’ facilities again, once all restrictions are lifted.

The Yoga for Harmony Studio ‘evolved’ in 2006, out of a personal desire to have my own space in which to teach, but also as a business and career challenge. It is situated just off Arthur Road in Windsor, Berkshire.

It was built with no financial backing, no business plan or indeed clear thought, but simply from savings, enthusiasm and loans from family members, and my dear friend who bought the property in the first place and took a year to fully redevelop the building, and ‘fit out’ the studio space.

I borrowed some money from my Mum and bought some mats and blocks to start with, and then opened up, putting any profits straight back into more equipment, purchases and promotions, and so the evolution began.

The early tutors were well respected colleagues and who agreed to join me on my journey – I had a timetable of 5 classes a week to start with and now have a very full weekly timetable of over 20 classes, (see timetable). I also offer a wide range of specialist and guest tutor workshops.(see workshops and events).

Yoga for Harmony is now widely respected both locally and Nationally as a ‘home’ for good quality yoga and very experienced tutors.

The studio has a capacity of 18 students, although the aim is to keep the regular weekly classes to about 12 students, in order to offer a more personal and friendly class environment. This aspect has been much appreciated by our regular visitors.

The studio, benefits from a beautiful natural wood floor, with under floor heating – lovely on chilly winter days and for a comfortable relaxation period. There is a large mirrored wall to help with posture alignment, and plenty of natural light.

I now have sophisticated cameras and large screen set up, to allow for good quality on-line classes as well as ‘blended’ classes (in-person combined with on-line participants) once we are able to reopen following ‘Covid’ restrictions being lifted.

Although the studio is usually fully equipped with yoga mats, blocks, belts etc, at the moment due to the Covid-19 issue, these have all been stored away, and I ask, please, that you bring you own to all classes, once we can reopen.

My intention at the YFH studio was and still is, to encompass many different styles of yoga, as well as complimentary practises such as Tai-Chi, Reiki, Gong Baths, Kirtan. I personally, specialise in modern Hatha Yoga.

The tutors who join me, are all fully qualified and insured within their particular school or discipline and have all been chosen for their wide range of experience and knowledge.

Several have been teaching for over 20 years, practising themselves even longer, and have been teaching at the studio since it opened in 2006.
Together we offer a wealth of teaching experience, knowledge, and personal development and practise.

We all continue to train, learn and develop, in order to make the teaching at Yoga for Harmony of the highest possible standard, and renowned in the area.

Contact details and profiles for the tutors can be found on the Tutor page.

Please be aware that there are no parking facilities outside the studio and for safety reasons and to respect our neighbours convenience, I request no parking, waiting, dropping off or picking up outside the studio.

However, the studio is well served with cheap and nearby public parking at the Windsor Leisure Centre and at the Alma Road car parks. After 6.00pm and all day on Sunday attendees are able to use the Windsor Glass Co. car parking spaces (Numbers 13 – 22) free of charge.  Access is via Vansittart Road and Duke Street.

Please note that to minimise costs the studio is only open when classes are running.  I do not have a full time telephone answering service, but you are welcome to call me, Julie, on 07828 132 091 for general enquiries and information.

Tutors aim to arrive about 10 minutes prior to class start times, so if you arrive early please don’t be alarmed if the door is locked.

There is often a changed timetable on Bank Holiday weekends,  and the studio is closed on Bank Holiday Mondays, over Easter weekend and usually for 2 weeks during the Christmas period.
